Description

M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy, is located about 25 million light years away, just below the constellation Ursa Major. M101 is believed  to be about twice the size of the Milky Way, being 170,000 light years across and containing more than 1 trillion stars.

This image is a compilation of about 15 hours of data shot over several nights this summer, using the Antlia Triband RGB filter and Celestron RASA 8. Captured with the ASIAIR Pro.
